Extended Reach 96 Inch Complete Single Door Set

For use on large kerf door jambs. The old style Peachtree Avanti door had a 1/4 inch wide kerf in door frame. The Avanti door weatherstrip was black; black is no longer available. Replace the original weatherstrip on your steel door with this new style 2-part vinyl insert and replacement weatherstrip.

Kit contains enough weatherstrip and inserts for weatherstripping 1 complete single door

Components:

• 2 strips of 96-inch extended reach weatherstrip
  •   The first 96-inch piece is for the lock side of the door. 
  •   Cut the second piece down to approximately 36-inches to fit the top of your door.
• 1 strip of 96-inch standard reach weatherstrip
  •   This 96-inch standard reach strip is for the hinge side of the door. This side must be standard reach because extended reach weatherstrip on the hinge side would be too thick for the door to close.
• 6 sections of 48-inch plastic insert
  •   These are used in conjunction with your weatherstrip.
  •   Plastic inserts are 5/16 inch wide and will compress to 1/4 inch.
  •   Plastic inserts are cut down from 96-inch pieces because we cannot ship long lengths of this product. You may need to cut and align to fit. 

Note:  You will have leftover weatherstrip and inserts. We encourage you to save these. In the event that your weatherstripping wears in one particular spot around your door, you can replace it as needed. You do not have to install this in long strips for the entire side; you can cut it down and replace it in sections.

This weatherstrip can be installed in one of two ways: 

1. Peachtree suggests installing the plastic insert first, then installing the weatherstrip.
2. We think it is easier to put plastic insert and weatherstrip together before installing. This may require using a block of wood to tap into a door with tight kerfs.
