The spacer provides support for the weight of the door and spreads the weight from the screws to the door panel. The spacer is necessary to prevent damage to the door panel.

Note:  Assembly can be replaced with Roller # 13243 with 1-1/2 inch wheels or 13093 with 1-1/4 inch roller, but will require a spacer provided by others to fill space above housing.
